FAQ
Do I need any prior experience?
No prior experience needed! Our Xformer and Modern Mat Pilates classes are adaptable for all fitness levels—beginner, intermediate, or advanced. Our instructors provide guidance at your pace, ensuring safe and effective movements while encouraging you to challenge yourself within your comfort zone.
How do I prepare for class?
If you’ve booked the introductory class, please arrive 15 minutes early so we can answer any questions and help you get comfortable with the equipment.
For all other classes, we ask participants to arrive 10 minutes early to ensure a smooth and disruption-free session.
What do I wear and bring to class?
We recommend wearing comfortable, form-fitting attire for ease of movement and a water bottle to stay hydrated.
Grip socks are required for both Xformer and modern mat Pilates classes.
Towels are not supplied- so you're welcome to bring your own!
What are grip socks?
Grip socks have an anti-slip design to provide traction and stability during exercise, as well as maintain healthy hygiene practices in our studio.
You can bring your own or purchase a pair from our studio!
What is an Xformer?
An Xformer machine combines Pilates, strength training and cardio in a larger, more dynamic version of the Pilates reformer. Designed for high-intensity, low-impact workouts, it features a moving carriage, adjustable resistance springs, pulleys and straps for a full-body burn. Because the Xformer is highly adjustable, its versitility makes it deal for all fitness levels from beginners to expert.
What is Modern Mat Pilates?
Our mat pilates classes follow a low intensity, high impact exercise regime to enhance strength, improve balance, core stability, and flexibility while utilizing ankle weights, free weights, resistance bands and more. We incorporate core pilates principles to connect the mind, body and soul with innovative exercises to continuously challenge you from head to toe.
What if I'm late to class?
We allow a 5-minute grace period for late arrivals in our group classes. Class entry will be closed 5 minutes after class starts to prevent disruptions and maintain a smooth experience for all.
Please note: If you arrive late to your private class, we cannot extend the session past the scheduled time.
We appreciate your understanding and commitment to a positive studio environment!
What is your cancellation policy?
To ensure waitlisted clients have a chance to join our classes, we kindly ask for 12 hours notice if you need to cancel to avoid a fee .
No-shows will forfeit their paid session, as their reserved spot could have been offered to waitlisted clients.
We appreciate your understanding and cooperation!
Can I attend a class while pregnant?
Your safety is our top priority. If you’re pregnant and planning to join our Xformer or Modern Mat classes, please get clearance from your OB-GYN or healthcare provider before participating, as every pregnancy is different.
If you’re in your second trimester or beyond, let your instructor know before class so we can offer supportive modifications. While our instructors are happy to suggest pregnancy-safe variations, always listen to your body—rest, modify, or skip movements as needed. Participation is voluntary and at your own risk. Please bring a towel, as we do not provide them. By attending, you confirm you have medical clearance and accept responsibility for your participation. We’re here to support you every step of the way
Is there an age requirement?
Participants must be at least 16 years of age to join our Xformer Group classes. Those under 16 are welcome to attend our Modern Mat classes when accompanied by a supervising adult. This ensures a safe, supportive environment aligned with the physical demands of each class format.
How does the waitlist work?
If a class is fully booked, you can join our waitlist to secure a chance at a spot. When a space becomes available, clients on the waitlist will be automatically notified and added to the class in order of priority.
Are there change rooms?
Yes we have change rooms and lockers for your belongings during class. If you'd like to secure your items, please bring your own lock, as we don’t provide them.
Also please note, Reform Pilates Studio is not responsible for any lost or stolen items.
